Vacancy: Programme Analyst – UN Women

Position Overview

The Programme Analyst will support the implementation of the Gender Responsive and Inclusive Governance (GRIG) programme under UN Women Nepal. The role involves programme management, partner coordination, donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic advocacy. The analyst will also contribute to knowledge sharing and inter-agency coordination aligned with Nepal’s commitments to gender equality, SDG 5, CEDAW, and national frameworks.


Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Development and Implementation

  • Support design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of GRIG programme activities.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners and relevant government agencies.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and process payments in compliance with UN Women rules.
  • Draft SOPs, memos, concept notes, and advocacy materials.

2. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and compile data for periodic progress and donor reports.
  • Conduct field visits and partner meetings to track project performance.
  • Support results-based management and integrate social norm change interventions.

3. Financial and Administrative Oversight

  • Monitor fund disbursement, partner financial reports, and compliance.
  • Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Ensure timely processing of payments and documentation for audits.

4. Coordination and Advocacy

  • Represent UN Women in relevant coordination platforms and technical working groups.
  • Collaborate with UN agencies, government, and civil society partners to enhance synergies.
  • Support development of policy briefs and communication products for advocacy.

5. Knowledge Management and Capacity Building

  • Document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Support development of training modules and tools for capacity building.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange between partners and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Science, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in programme planning, implementation, and reporting.
    • Experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment, and governance projects.
    • Experience in coordinating with government bodies and civil society.
  • Language: Fluency in both English and Nepali (spoken and written).
  • Technical Skills: Strong command of MS Office, reporting tools, budgeting software preferred.
