We are currently seeking a dynamic, committed, and experienced MEAL Coordinator to lead the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning functions in our Adolescent Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) Project, managed through the Surkhet Field Office (SFO).
Key Responsibilities
Program Design
- Lead situation analyses, project baselines, evaluations, and indicator surveys.
- Review log-frames, develop MEAL plans, and ensure integration with SC’s MEAL framework.
- Design study methodologies and tools, and prepare ToRs for research activities.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Regular monitoring visits and feedback to project teams using quality benchmarks.
- Track data through DHIS2 and support regular progress reviews.
- Provide technical support for project monitoring, reporting, case studies, and success stories.
- Support reporting requirements including SWC, donor reports, IPPT, and annual reports.
Data & Information Management
- Develop and manage project databases and ensure timely analysis and feedback.
- Support development and use of platforms such as PRIME, OPMIS, and other MIS systems.
Accountability
- Strengthen accountability mechanisms including Feedback and Reporting Mechanisms (FRM).
- Ensure community feedback is addressed promptly and effectively.
Evaluation and Learning
- Coordinate mid-term and final evaluations and promote learning culture within the organization.
- Facilitate internal learning events and identify research topics based on project learning agendas.
Coordination and Representation
- Represent Save the Children in local/provincial/national forums as assigned.
- Build MEAL capacity of PNGO staff and ensure familiarization with SCI MEAL systems.
- Provide MEAL support during emergency responses.
Other
- Support Save the Children’s dual mandate of development and emergency preparedness.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Reporting Line
- Reports to: Senior MEAL Coordinator (SFO)
- Technical Collaboration: Technical Manager – Health and Nutrition (SFO)
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, or related field with 3 years (or 2 years for GEDSI groups) of experience in MEAL or research, preferably in adolescent maternal and neonatal health projects in INGOs.
OR - Bachelor’s degree in Public Health with 5 years (or 3 years for GEDSI groups) of similar experience.
- Strong experience with DHIS2, KOBO Toolbox, and data analysis tools.
- Proven expertise in project design, data management, and MEAL systems.
- Excellent technical report writing, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently in stressful and changing environments.
Desirable:
- Experience developing MIS.
- Familiarity with Save the Children’s MEAL Framework and global standards.
- Experience with action research and digital monitoring systems.
