Duty Station: Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur District, Nepal
Duration: One year (with possibility of extension based on performance and project funding)
Project Duration: August 2024 – July 2027
Monthly Remuneration: NPR 35,000/- (Gross)


About the Organization:

Care and Development Organization (CDO) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to reducing extreme poverty and enhancing the quality of life of marginalized and vulnerable populations in Nepal. CDO works with underprivileged groups including children in brick and carpet factories, internally displaced persons, and women in need—through initiatives in health care, education, empowerment, and skill development.


About the Project:

The Mental Health and Awareness Project is a three-year initiative targeting Wards 3 and 14 of Godawari Municipality and local community schools in Lalitpur District. The project aims to address mental health concerns such as anxiety, stress, and depression, while promoting mental well-being through awareness, education, counseling, and empowerment.


Key Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation and coordination of all project components. Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, implement, and oversee all project activities.
  • Facilitate mental health screenings, counseling sessions, referrals, and follow-ups.
  • Organize community and school-based health education sessions.
  • Train and orient FCHVs and schoolteachers on mental health topics.
  • Supervise therapeutic group activities, tele-counseling, and school mental health initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, maintain records, and prepare periodic narrative and financial reports.
  • Conduct social audits and ensure transparency and accountability in all project interventions.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders including municipality officials, schools, health workers, and community leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with government health protocols and project standards.
  • Develop and disseminate awareness materials (e.g., posters, wall paintings, pamphlets).
  • Facilitate monthly and quarterly review and coordination meetings.
  • Manage project administration, procurement, budgeting, and logistics.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination—preferably in mental health or community health projects.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues, community-based interventions, and referral systems.
  • Proven skills in facilitation, counseling, and community mobilization.
  • Experience collaborating with schools, FCHVs, and local government bodies is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Nepali and English (verbal and written); knowledge of local languages is a plus.
  • Strong skills in MS Office, documentation, and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field sites.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments under pressure.
